AI Disclosure

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Every card Arkwork produces is generated using artificial intelligence. This page explains what that means in practice, so you know exactly what you're getting before you create a card.

What's AI-generated

  • The card image itself — the portrait (or badge design, if no photo is provided), layout, and on-card text are produced by an AI image model (via OpenAI), based on the name, role, and appreciation you submit.
  • The suggested social caption and discovery hashtags shown after generation are produced by a separate AI text model (also via OpenAI), drawing only from what you wrote.

What's not AI-generated

We never invent facts, achievements, or details about the recipient beyond what you provide. Arkwork does not search the web, scrape LinkedIn, or pull information from any other source — everything the AI has to work with is exactly what you typed into the form. The instructions we give the model explicitly prohibit inventing achievements, titles, or specifics that aren't stated or clearly implied by your own words.

Every submission is checked before generation

AI-generated content is subject to automated safety checks before generation. Requests that violate our Community Guidelines may be refused.

Before your card is generated, your photo (if any) and every piece of text you submitted are automatically screened by OpenAI's moderation model. Anything flagged for hate, harassment, sexual content, violence, self-harm, or illicit activity is refused — the card is never generated. Your appreciation message specifically gets one more check: if it reads as mildly negative or backhanded but can honestly be reframed as a celebration, it may be automatically rewritten into something warmer, using only what you actually wrote. If it can't honestly become a celebration, it's refused rather than rewritten. See Safety & Moderation for the full picture, including a known limitation with photo moderation we want you to know about.

Limitations to know about

  • AI generation can occasionally misread intent, generate an imperfect likeness from an uploaded photo, or produce a caption that doesn't perfectly match your tone.
  • Generated content is not reviewed by a human before it's shown to you — you should still read the result before sharing it, especially before choosing to share a card publicly.
  • If a photo is uploaded, the resulting portrait is an AI reinterpretation, not a photographic copy — it will not be pixel-identical to the original photo.
  • The moderation described above runs automatically on every submission, but it is not infallible — see Safety & Moderation for a specific, known gap in photo moderation.

Your responsibility when using AI-generated content

Because the recipient hasn't reviewed or approved the card before you share it, please make sure you have the right to use any photo you upload and that your submission complies with our Community Guidelines — especially before choosing to share it publicly, where it becomes visible to anyone with the link.
